The Youth Strategy program was set up to enable young people between the ages
of 18 and 35 to participate in the economic development of their region and
to keep them from leaving the area. The objective of this program is to encourage
one or more young people to undertake an entrepreneurial project which can
be a business acquisition, creation, expansion or modernization.
The aim is
also to promote social, cultural and economic commitment to the community
in this age group. Support is available from the SADC Youth Strategy program
in the form of technical and financial assistance. Entrepreneurs who apply
for program assistance benefit from closer technical follow-up that includes
training services focussed on the specific needs of the milieu.
Financial Assistance:
- Personal loan ranging between $5000 and
$15 000
- 24
month interest holiday
- Option for two young entrepreneurs to benefit
from the same loan for the same project
- Follow-up tailored to business development

For the review of the funding application, developers
must provide certain documents proving eligibility, profitability
and viability according to financial ratios applicable to the
various sectors :
All Youth Strategy Fund decisions are made locally, based
on the principles of viability, profitability, and technical
and financial feasibility of the proposed projects.
