Very much like the pioneer lumberjacks of the 19th century
(illustrated besind
in the context of the "Chasse
Galerie" legend by Honoré Beaugrand),
the Gatineau Valley SADC actively participates in the economic development
of the Gatineau Valley.
Mission
The mission of the Gatineau Valley SADC is to encourage the
community to participate in taking charge of its future.
Through activities that promote cooperation and partnership,
the SADC encourages the community to adapt and plan its human
resources needs, and supports business and job creation with
financial and technical services.
Over the years, the Gatineau Valley SADC has developed
particular expertise in the business community, which
it has used to
stimulate and add vitality to the business milieu.
The Gatineau Valley SADC is managed by an 11-member volunteer
Board of Directors consisting of civilians. A team of five
employees implements the directives of the Board. The Corporation
is funded by Canada Economic Development, a federal agency.
The Gatineau Valley SADC belongs to the 67-member Réseau
des SADC du Québec.
Tools
The Gatineau Valley SADC has several tools to
achieve its mandate, two of which are the Regular Investment
Funds and Youth Strategy that enable the SADC to support local
development and assist the SMEs in the Gatineau Valley.
