Industry Canada’s Community Access Program (CAP) provides thousands of Canadians with access to the Internet in schools, community centres and libraries.

The program’s objectives are to : Whe're connected !

Increase public awareness of the potential and advantages of information technologies and related services
Help citizens become better informed by exchanging information and ideas with others
Coach individuals in the use of services made available to them by means of information technologies
Promote online delivery of government programs and services
Promote activities such as e-business

Through the support of the Gatineau Valley SADC, the financial involvement of Industry Canada and strong participation by the municipalities concerned, four community access centres were set up in the Gatineau Valley, together forming the Réseau Nord de centres d'accès communautaires – Northern Network of Community Access Centres.
